Workshop on project-based learning in Serbia
On December 23rd, Science on Stage Serbia hosted a teacher workshop focused on project-based learning. This innovative approach to education is designed to engage students in a more interactive and practical way, and 21 dedicated educators participated in the activity.
This is their report:
Projects are based on questions or challenges that are relevant to students and their world. Project-based learning provides students with the opportunity to develop key skills through practical and interactive activities. It involves bringing together knowledge from different subjects to solve a problem. Students research, plan, experiment and come up with solutions on their own, with the support of the teacher as a mentor. Projects include ongoing assessment of progress and student reflection on what they have learned and how they have been doing. This approach contributes to the development of critical thinking and creativity in students. At the same time, students learn to work as a team, share responsibilities and communicate effectively. Project-based learning motivates students to actively engage in the process and take initiative for their own learning. Through this kind of work, teachers and students jointly create a dynamic and inspiring learning environment.
