Artificial Intelligence

Understanding language, recognising and creating images or even developing human-like characteristics such as creativity and emotions; these are all capabilities that artificial intelligence systems have. Artificial intelligence (AI) is already having a major impact on various aspects of our lives. Therefore, it is important to introduce students to this topic at an early age so that they develop a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities but also the challenges that come along with AI. Teachers play a key role in teaching students about this and Science on Stage wants to support them in doing so.

We want to encourage teachers to take on this matter and its sub-areas, such as machine learning and programming, and give them the appropriate tools to be able to implement these topics in the classroom, such as our “AI in STEM Education” teaching materials published in summer 2024.

Following the launch of the teaching materials, Science on Stage Germany invites teachers and their students to apply for our AI in STEM Challenge with an innovative approach to using AI. The students should identify a challenge, regionally or globally, explore how AI can help solve this problem, and design, code, and refine their own AI application.
