Updates from Science on Stage Serbia
1. Integrated learning and project planning are key components of modern education that enable students to connect different areas of knowledge and develop practical skills through solving real problems. Through this approach, students develop the ability to think critically and understand complex problems, which increases their engagement and interest in learning. At ITHS, integrated learning includes projects through which students apply acquired knowledge in practical situations. These projects include tasks such as multidisciplinary team projects - where students from different fields collaborate on common projects, using knowledge from different subjects. On On November 8, at ITHS, one of the activities in which students and teachers participated, led by ITHS project centre Nikola Dragović and Andrijana Vasić and school pedagogue Dragana Radenović, took place. 12 teachers from ITHS who teach STEM subjects participated in the event, and 13 students exhibited their projects.
2. An online webinar was held on October 31. 106 teachers from all over Serbia attended the webinar. The webinar lecture on the "Magic Apple" project explains how STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is integrated into the teaching process. The project is designed to encourage students to think logically, connect and infer through cross-curricular correlation. The apple, as a basic motif, allows students to explore natural connections through various activities and learn through discovery and experience, combining the familiar with the new. All activities are based on play and exploration, which makes them close and stimulating for children, additionally motivating them to learn through experience.
