Teach STEM with Science on Stage Portugal to reach the Sustainable Development Goals
Science on Stage Portugal developed a 3 hours teacher continuous professional development program that supported teachers to promote new, more practical, and contextualized approaches in the curriculum promoting interdisciplinarity from a STEM perspective; provided knowledge about project-based learning resources and methodologies; explored examples and new educational materials of STEM activities focusing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and explained how teachers may participate in the European Science on Stage project.
It was a very experimental hands-on workshop and a very successful one confirmed by the answers to the final evaluation questionnaire. The workshops took place on the 6th, 7th, and 11th of September in different cities in Portugal and were visited by around 100 preschool, Primary, and Secondary Science Teachers.
The activity was realized by the NSC of Science on Stage Portugal. Supporters: Science on Stage Europe, NUCLIO and local Teacher Training Centers.
