#sons2024: The national event of Romania
The festival took place on September 29 and 30, in Cluj-Napoca, in a public space from the city's central park, with a special historical value, Casino Urban Culture Center.
During the festival, the projects, selected in the first phase of the contest which was launched for the representation of Romania for the European Festival in Turku, were presented. The jury selected seven projects which themes ranged from Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Technology, History, combined gamification, learning through discovery, algorithm technique, investigation and experiment. These ones are CHEMISTRY through the STEAM method, Coding in Computer craft, da Vinci bridge, Using of plant material to obtain bioplastic, Mini meteorological station for our school, Building a spectrometer, Let's play STEM.
The teams participating in the festival brought together about 50 teachers and students who presented projects to over 1500 people who represented the general public on those two days of the festival (the second one was part of the European Researchers' Night event).
The Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca through the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering was the main supporter of Science on Stage Romania, besides the Cluj County School Inspectorate, the project ReCoNnect - Research Communication for active learning and QUB Education.
