207 students from different Science on Stage member countries and different age groups – ranging from 10 to 18 years – filled in our survey from October-December 2024. The responses confirmed the high relevance of the topic and the wish to gain practical insights in STEM lessons via e.g. escape games, meetings with experts, and experiments.
These are some of the statements that the respondees confirmed or did not confirm:
- For me, the topic of career orientation is very relevant.
- I would like to learn more about different STEM professions in class.
- I find it interesting to learn more about the future role of artificial intelligence in STEM professions.
- It would motivate me to get to know STEM professions as part of an Escape Game.
- It would motivate me to learn about experiments that people in STEM professions are involved in and to carry them out myself.
- It would motivate me to get to know STEM professions involving artificial intelligence through a classroom project.
Additionally, the responses showed that both salary and work-life balance are important factors for choosing a career a STEM, while the profession's impact on society was less decisive, but still very relevant for many.
