We mourn the death of Adam Kovach - a leading figure of Science on Stage
We are very sorry to hear that Adam Kovach passed away. He was a leading figure of Science on Stage in Hungary and also of Science on Stage Europe. Adam Kovach graduated in 1955 as a teacher of physics and mathematics. He worked as a research physicist at the Institute of Nuclear Research in the fields of environmental physics and the application of mass spectrometry in the Earth sciences and delivered also university courses in these fields.
He also was active in science policy and administration including in membership in committees of several international organizations (IUGG, KBGA, EURATOM) and served as secretary general of the R. Eötvös Physical Society in Hungary for six years.
Adam was a great promoter of the Science on Stage movement. He attended all Physics on Stage and many Science on Stage festivals.
In addition, he supported the development of Science on Stage Hungary and was responsible for bringing the European Science on Stage festival 2017 to Debrecen, Hungary.
With his expertise Adam also contributed to the success of Science on Stage Europe. He was involved in the foundation of the non-profit association and was member of the Executive Board of Science on Stage Europe 2012-2015.
We all thank Adam very much for his contribution and we will miss him.
