Teacher training throughout Europe
In February and March, two in-person teacher training activities were supported with a grant from Science on Stage Germany's "Coding for our Future" project.
In Reichelsheim, Germany, about 40 teachers came together for all all-day BarCamp on the topics of "Education for Sustainable Development and Digitality in School". Throughout the day, they joined hands-on sessions on digital resources such as Lego Essentials, Stop Motion, Edupool, and Prowise Presenter, as well as a workshop on "AI in Elementary School".
In Poprad, Slovakia, 15 teachers of STEAM subjects in primary and middle school took part in a 2-hour training session entitled "A Step Ahead in ICT", enjoying a timely and face-to-face introduction to AI and digital collaboration tools and sharing best practices. They explored the Magic School AI lesson planning tool and the teaching resources offered by Science on Stage.
More teacher trainings on the topics of coding, robotics and automation are planned throughout Europe in the coming weeks. The "Coding for our Future" grant scheme is a project by Science on Stage Germany supported by Amazon Future Engineer. It is open to schools, parents' initiatives, and individual STEM teachers from Science on Stage member countries who want to organise a teacher training activity in the field of coding in 2024 or 2025.
