Goodbye Faenza, see you Prague!

From 11 to 12 September 2021 the beautiful town of Faenza, not far from the famous Romagna Riviera, hosted the Italian national festival.

Nearly sixty teachers and educators presented the best of STEM education projects realized in the Italian schools. The projects, aimed at different school grades, covered a wide range of science topics, teaching methodologies and presentation styles.

Original digital equipment, dedicated websites, live performances, science-art displays and manufacts attracted the interest of participants, including some hundreds of citizens of all ages, who came to the Palazzo delle Esposizioni of Faenza, kindly provided by the Municipality.

In the same location, a number of local research institutions and high-tech companies enriched the fair with their interesting exhibits.

After the inauguration, following a virtual greeting by Chair of Science on Stage Europe, Stefanie Schlunk, and by the local authorities, the Italian jury began visiting each stand, asking the exhibitors to present their project.

To select the Italian delegation from the 29 innovative and wonderful projects, proved to be a difficult task.

The selected Italian delegation was announced during the closing ceremony after a surprising on-stage performance (juggling and physics, “topological” dance) presented by three SonS participants.

A special national prize (an artistic faïence manufact) was awarded to the best project developed for distance learning during the pandemic.
