Science in Sports: Inquiry-based learning about physical forces via video analysis
Overview
How can you connect sports with classical mechanics? In the teaching unit “Science in Sports” students take videos of various motions, e.g. the flight of a ball or a moving bicycle. The underlying physical laws are later analysed by using the program ‘Tracker’.
This unit is recommended for students age 13 to 19 as prior knowledge in physics and information and communication technology is required. The teaching unit can be adapted to the specific level of knowledge of the students.
